Move forward as Account Manager at DSV in Amsterdam

Wanted! Entrepreneurial client manager. Do you have knowledge of 3PL or related logistics flows and experienced in sales? Then the position of account manager at DSV might be your next step. With your knowledge of warehousing and transport flows, new clients are in your capable hands. Existing partners find in you a professional sparring partner and troubleshooter. You have got vision, can set strategies, and are able to translate client wishes into commercial opportunities for DSV.

Our warehouse in Amsterdam covers about 50,000m², and we provide logistics activities for various international key accounts at this location. Our clients? Mainly gaming, tech and automotive industry. Therefore, it is valuable if you have a feel for these industries. The position of account manager at DSV Solutions is a solo role, and you are responsible for managing the business relationships within your own portfolio of international clients. It is a bit of a free role in which we expect you to independently create an account plan for your clients and you are able to provide growth in business through cross-selling or upselling to our Road, Air, or Sea divisions. You contribute to this.

How you do this? 

As an account manager, you ensure a smooth landing of new business relationships after warehouse implementation and identify customer needs to advise them on new opportunities and possibilities. You handle long-term processes well and can create a clear structure for yourself. You are commercially minded and can think strategically about long-term business development to enable you to expand our services within your client portfolio. You consult with internal stakeholders, and on a commercial level, you are supported by the site manager. Your up-to-date knowledge of logistics flows, the market, and extensive experience with excel are crucial for your role. Sharing information and trends with clients and colleagues through presentations in MBRs and QBRs is part of your responsibilities. All this aims to enhance the client focus of activities within our division Solutions in Amsterdam. You achieve this by:

  • creating Account Plans, long-term strategies and managing tender projects for your clients;
  • participate in local MT;
  • providing upselling and cross-selling services within our division Solutions, Road, Air, and Sea;
  • offering flexibility in stakeholder management. Due to the international nature of your clients, you may need to work outside office hours or visit clients abroad.

You bring

  • a commercial mindset and a sparkling personality;
  • drive! You recognize cross-selling or upselling opportunities within your client portfolio and take initiative;
  • knowledge of logistics flows within a (3PL) warehousing environment;
  • at least 2 years of work experience in a commercial role, preferably within the logistics sector.
