Move forward as Import Agent at DSV in Dordrecht

Have you been working as an import agent or forwarder for several years and are you looking for a more all-round job? Due to the departure of a colleague, we are looking for an import specialist. In this all-round position, you will be responsible for organizing import shipments for your national and international clients on a daily basis. From A to Z, you remain in the lead and maintain frequent contact with customers, carriers and shipping companies. Thanks to your well-organized workday and expertise, clients are in your capable hands, ensuring timely deliveries (LCL / FCL). That’s what you do!

You get it done

Thanks to your efforts and those of your 20 colleagues in the import department, you ensure that customers' import shipments are shipped and transported properly and on time. Delivered sustainably, at the right rate and of course according to customer agreements; you contribute to this.

How you do this? On average, around 100 shipments per person are processed each month. It’s hard work, but there's also a lot of fun at our import department. From Monday to Friday, you actively process bookings and from departure to arrival and delivery, you have total control. You must of course, because you are the first point of contact for customers. For questions, but also for issues related to deliveries. You are there for them! With your knowledge of T1 forms and customs clearance, you are well-versed in customs matters, at least you have basic knowledge in this area. Data processing is also part of the job because everything must be systemically well-organized and complete. Lastly, you also handle billing and invoicing, because all that hard work needs to be billed to the customer. You are the all-rounder who finds challenge in this job and you achieve this by:

  • accepting and processing bookings, data processing and handling customer invoicing;
  • checking documentation associated with the booking according to Incoterms and customer instructions;
  • providing instructions to our customs department regarding the preparation of T1 documents and customs clearance;
  • identifying delivery discrepancies and providing customers with updates on current shipments via phone and email;
  • maintaining customer contact to proactively respond to needs, opportunities, and complaints.

Your team stands out within DSV as the largest department at our Dordrecht location. You will work in a fun and diverse team of 20 colleagues, where everyone is well-coordinated. This is why a team player is a welcome addition. Furthermore, you will find a lot of fun and enjoyment in the team, communication lines are short and it's okay if you still have things to learn. We are always looking for talent and ambition!
