Summary
The Manager, Project Field Operations is responsible for ensuring that field operations provide services to a high standard whilst always adhering to safety standards. The Manager will supervise and provide leadership to the field logistics specialists, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and client satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Direct and oversee all aspects of project cargo logistics, including loading, unloading, transloading, and site operations.
• Monitor and ensure adherence to customer manuals, DSV work instructions, and safety protocols.
• Provide guidance to logistics specialists on port, site, and yard operations, resolving escalated issues promptly.
• Lead the planning and coordination of all site activities, including inspections, meetings, and operational checks.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop Project Logistics Specialists to ensure high performance and adherence to company standards.
• Conduct regular training on safety, compliance, and operational procedures.
• Monitor workload distribution and adjust assignments to optimize team efficiency and resource allocation.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to provide updates on project progress and address challenges.
• Participate in client meetings, including daily production calls, and represent DSV in discussions about logistics planning and execution.
• Prepare and review operational reports, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to customers and internal teams.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including extreme weather checks and onsite hazard assessments.
• Conduct visual or desktop inspections of lifting equipment, truck readiness, and road conditions to guarantee operational safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategies for optimizing project logistics operations.
• Analyze project performance metrics and implement improvements to meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Manage budgetary oversight for project logistics operations, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising quality.
Educational background / Work experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Minimum 5-7 years in logistics operations, including supervisory roles.
• Good knowledge of Over Dimensional Cargo handling and project freight across various transportation modes.
Skills & Competencies
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across intercultural teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and freight systems (CargoWise CW1 preferred).
• Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities with a focus on meeting demanding operational needs.
• Ability to work in remote locations and travel domestically when needed.
• Eligibility for obtaining a TWIC Card.

• This position will be responsible for managing a team of operations staff.
Preferred Qualifications
• Master's degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management or a related field.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and experience with transportation management software.

For this position, the expected base pay is: $66,000- $99,000 / Annual. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
