DSV Information notice for the processing of personal data
At DSV we are committed to protecting your personal data. We encourage you to read our information notice for the processing of personal data which will provide you with information on how we process your personal data at DSV as part of your role as a Driver on behalf of DSV.
Due to the new digitalised way of working, DSV has introduced the DSV Driver app and the DSV E-learning app.
The DSV Driver app is a digital platform accommodating Track&Trace information and relevant freight documents.
The DSV E-learning app is developed with the purpose of making sure that DSV’s external drivers have a tool to learn about the most important functionalities in the DSV Driver app.
Why do we collect and process your personal data?
Your personal data is primarily processed to fulfil the agreement which your employer has entered with DSV and for the administration of your role as a Driver on behalf of DSV.
When being a Driver on behalf of DSV, you will be required to use the DSV Driver app. This is for the purposes of:
- Fast digital CMR registration
- Online pick-up and delivery confirmation
- Getting instructions fast and easy
- Professionalisation of drivers
- Direct lines of communication
- Optimizing working procedures
- Reporting work progress
DSV will collect the personal data about you while you are driving, picking up/delivering packages/goods on behalf of DSV with the primarily purpose to track DSV’s delivery chain. The GPS data will only be processed with the purpose of Track&Trace the packages/goods.
Additionally, DSV will be able to get access to your device to enable to provide technical assistance, hereby also retrieving static material for the use of DSV. DSV sets requirements for remote control to be executed only with Driver‘s acceptance. This has the purpose of giving remote support, including the camera. This means that DSV can only access the camera function when a Driver requests remote assistance, accepts remote assistance and opens the camera.
What personal data do we collect and how do we process your personal data?
The DSV entity where you act as a Driver may collect, process, and use your personal data, including your name, email address, telephone/mobile number, driver’s license number, vehicle registration number and GPS data. In some cases, e.g., special transports or customs regulations, you will be asked to provide a copy of your criminal record.
DSV will collect your location data to track the delivery/pick up of the transport you are handling and to calculate ETA (estimated time of arrival) of the transport.
The DSV entity will only collect and process personal data about you that is considered necessary for the administration of you being a Driver on behalf of DSV. Your personal data may also be processed to comply with legal requirements or to establish or defend legal claims. DSV will not have the opportunity to access other apps on your device.
For how long do we store your personal data?
Your personal data is processed for as long as it is necessary to fulfil the above-mentioned purposes and in accordance with applicable law. Your personal data will be deleted when the purpose for which it was collected and processed no longer exists.
Who do we share your personal data with?
Your personal data may be shared with other DSV group companies, if relevant. Such group companies include companies situated in countries outside the EU/EEA. Your personal data may also be shared with certain service providers or other third parties such as processors of IT hosting and maintenance providers.
In certain circumstances and according to legislation it may be necessary to disclose data to the authorities. We may also disclose your personal data to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights.
The DSV entity where you act as a Driver has entered into transfer agreements based on the EU Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses to ensure an adequate level of data protection with respect to transfers outside the EU/EEA.
Any third-party providers used by DSV will be required to process your personal data only in accordance with DSV’s instructions and to maintain reasonable security of your personal data.
If it is necessary to transfer your personal data outside EU/EEA, we will ensure an adequate level of personal data protection; All DSV group entities are bound by DSV’s binding corporate rules (you can read the binding corporate rules here), and all other third parties will have entered into a transfer agreement, e.g. the EU Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, when required by law and no other lawful method of transfer exists.
In case of a customer claim handling, Driver accepts to participate in such circumstances. In addition, Driver’s personal data might be shared with third parties with the purpose of establishing the claim handling.
How do we safeguard your rights?
Any consent that you may have provided during the process may be withdrawn at any time by contacting us (see contact form below).
You also have a right to access the personal data processed about you, subject to certain statutory exceptions. Furthermore, you may object to the collection and further processing of your personal data. In addition, you have the right to request that any processing is limited, that your personal data is corrected, if necessary, or under certain circumstances deleted.
