In your role as a freight forwarder in our Road Department & in our SKG/Thessaloniki office, you will work with companies, importers and exporters to make sure goods are transported in the safest, most efficient and cost-effective way.

You will be the point of reference for all queries, requests or issues and obviously, you will be an integral part of DSV’s workforce!

Responsibilities for the Freight Forwarder Role

• Considering and planning the most effective route for freight
• Organizing the transportation of freight between intermediate destinations
• Tracking the movement of freight
• Reporting back to clients, keeping them up-to-date
• Taking appropriate measures for the movement of delicate goods
• Checking countries’ legal requirements to make sure all the appropriate documentation (eg insurance and customs forms) is filled out
• Staying up-to-date with relevant political activities and legislation that might impact the transportation of freight
• Coordinating and communicating shipment loading requirements with shippers and hauliers.
• Review of freight cost and transportations rates  
• Coordination with sales dept for cost pricing

Requirements

• Proven work experience as a Freight Forwarder (in Road operations) – at least 1 to 2 years
• High degree of multi-tasking and time management capability
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Integrity and professionalism
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Business English (written/spoken)
• Degree in Logistics or relevant field is nice to have
