Summary
As the Pricing Analyst you will play a pivotal role in supporting the National Pricing Team by coordinating various pricing activities and ensuring seamless communication between internal departments and external clients. Your organizational skills and attention to detail will be essential in facilitating the quoting/pricing process and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. You will work closely with other departments, including commercial and procurement, to develop pricing strategies that drive business growth.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Generate spot quotes for air shipments based on customer inquiries.
- Ensure quotes are competitive, accurate, and delivered within specified timeframes
- Analyze pricing data and trends to identify areas where DSV can improve its pricing strategies.
- Develop pricing models and strategies that contemplating factors such as market conditions, competition, and customer demand.
- Work closely with sales and operations teams to understand customer needs and develop pricing proposals that meet those needs.
- Monitor pricing performance and adjust pricing strategies as needed to remain competitive.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that pricing strategies align with overall business objectives.
- Maintain pricing databases and ensure that pricing information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Follow up with clients and internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve any issues or concerns.
- Assist the Procurement/Sales/Ops team with administrative tasks, such as preparing sales reports, presentations, and RFQ proposals.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal/external client inquiries and requests for information.
Educational background / Work experience
- 2+ years of experience in a pricing or analytical role in the transportation and logistics industry.
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in a sales support or Operations coordination role, preferably in the Air transportation or logistics industry.
- Familiarity with sales processes and customer relationship management (CRM) systems is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with large amounts of data and identify trends.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Customer-focused with a commitment to providing high-quality service.
- Experience in negotiating with vendors.
- Knowledge of sales and marketing principles and techniques.
- Familiarity with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
- Experience with pricing in the transportation and logistics industry.
- Knowledge of transportation and logistics operations.
Language skills
- Fluent in English (oral and written)
- Other languages a plus
Computer Literacy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is preferred.
