SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant is responsible for enforcing and applying DSV accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely finance reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. In this position, the Senior Accountant is expected to manage tax reporting and be responsible for a multitude of general ledger functions, including but not limited to, revenue recognition, account reconciliations, reporting and analysis, month-end close, and inventory reconciliations. The Senior Accountant is also expected to prepare and understand profit center reporting and address actual to budget variances with the business.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with external tax agencies to produce and prepare necessary documentation to support income, value-added, sales and withholding tax reporting for US, Ireland, Poland, Israel, Singapore, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
  • Develop and maintain end-to-end documentation related to regulatory reporting, including contact information for each authority and external agency, the listing of filings, due dates, as well as procedure documentation related to each filing.
  • Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
  • Responsible for assigned month-end closing and reporting tasks; reviews and analyzes reports for accuracy and ensure timeliness of their submittal. Also responsible for quarterly and year-end financial reporting requirements, particularly as it pertains to tax reporting.
  • Prepare monthly profit center reports and work with the business to understand and report fluctuation analysis to management. Monitor budget performance and provide explanations for variances upon request.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in inventory records and work to prevent future errors. Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to minimize discrepancies and losses.
  • Responsible for assigned account reconciliations and resolution of reconciling items therein.
  • Responsible for ensuring that Company standards and procedures are applied consistently in financial reporting. Ensures adherence to all DSV compliance and financial manuals as well as local policies; recommends new policies as needed.
  • Assist in budget planning, rolling forecast and submittal, as assigned.
  • Identifies business strategic indicators and implement processes to track performance against these indicators.
  • Support a clean and timely year-end statutory audit; manage timely submission of year-end tax filings for each entity.
  • Coordinate with other controlling team members located in Israel and APAC as needed to ensure consistent processes and timely reporting of consolidated results.
  • Collaborate with the other department managers to support overall company goals and objectives.
  • Respond to inquiries from DSV Finance regarding financial results, special reporting requests, etc.
  • Other ad hoc reporting or tasks, as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting from an accredited college or university
  • Five or more years’ prior experience in accounting or related field

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

 

Computer Skills

  • Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
  • ERP System

 

Language Skills

  • English (reading, writing and verbal)
  • Hebrew (reading, writing and verbal)

 

Mathematical Skills

  •  Able to perform intermediate mathematical calculations, balance and reconcile figures.

 

Other Skills

  • Strong understanding of established international financial reporting standards
  • Effective oral & written communication skills
  • Ability to manage confidential information with the utmost care, security and discretion
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others within and across functions at all levels of the company
  • Must be flexible and able to handle multiple priorities/tasks simultaneously and effectively
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

           

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s in Business with an emphasis in Accounting from an accredited college or university is a plus
  • CMA or CPA License
  • Pillar 2 familiarity
  • Experience with specific ERP Systems:  Priority, SAP
  • International accounting experience is a plus
  • Experience in manufacturing industries a plus

For this position, the expected base pay is: $70,500 - $105,500/ Annual.  Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
